Wayne H. Peck, 81, Fayetteville, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 at Martinsburg, V.A. Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. Born on March 5, 1933 in Clear Spring, MD, he was the son of the late Howard and Laura Kuhn Peck. Wayne was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Korean War. After his military service, he worked 20 years at Letterkenny Army Depot before retiring to start a career as an owner/operator in the trucking industry. His beloved wife, Doris Hafer Peck, preceded him in death on October 21, 2010.
Wayne in survived by a daughter, Patti J. Thornton and husband Russell of Fayetteville; a son, Barry J. Peck and wife Teri of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Paul of Ohio and James of New Mexico; 2 sisters, Beulah Group of Chambersburg and Ruby Oliver of St. Thomas. Aside from his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Tony D. Peck; 3 brothers, Marshall, Earl and Cody Peck; and one sister Joann Taylor.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, November 28, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Pastor AJ Hezlep will officiate. Interment with military honors provided by Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
