Wayne Ricks

Wayne Anthony Ricks, age 62, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Born in Connelsville, PA on September 1, 1954, he was the son of the late William S. and Anna Mae Meadows Ricks.

Mr. Ricks served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1978 – 1982. He worked in warehousing for a number of years, prior to retirement. Wayne loved his family and he loved the Lord. His hobbies included studying the Word, fishing, and helping older people. Wayne was an active member of John Wesley AME Church.

Surviving is his wife of 32 years, Kum Cha Ricks, whom he married November 22, 1984, three children, Mark and Amos Ricks of Chambersburg, PA and Shawn Tay Ricks of Uniontown, PA; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and siblings, William “Porky” Ricks, Donna Playeer, Guy, Gary, and Brenda Ricks; and JoAnn Mickens, Demetrius, and Donald Meade. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Charles and Deborah Ricks.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Dr. Allie Harper and Rev. Renata Mosley Harper will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
