Wesley Crusey

Wesley A. Crusey, age 101, a resident at Providence Place since May of 2011 and formerly of Chambersburg and Fayetteville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, April 12, 2012. Born May 1, 1910 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Raymond A. and Annie Eckenrode Crusey. First employed at the former Peerless Furniture Factory in Shippensburg, he began his lifelong trade, as a pattern maker, in 1928 at the Frog Switch Company in Carlisle. He was next employed at Standard Pattern Works in Waynesboro and then the Domestic Pump Company in Shippensburg. He returned to work again at Standard Pattern Company in Waynesboro and went on to work at Chambersburg Pattern Works. Mr. Crusey was last employed with JC Pattern Company in Chambersburg. He was a member of the Brethren Fellowship in Chambersburg and a former member of Fourth Street Church of the Brethren in Chambersburg where he served as a Deacon, taught Sunday School, and lent his woodworking talents to handcraft various items for the church. Mr. Crusey was a former member of the AARP.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Miriam Barrick Crusey in 1941 and his second wife, Iva Mouer Crusey in 1972.

He is survived by five children, Jesse L. Crusey and wife Joann of Chambersburg, Beulah McClure Mellinger and husband Rodney of Chambersburg, Charlotte Carbaugh and husband David of Fayetteville, Ruth Myers of Fayetteville, and Genevieve Newman and husband Charles, also of Fayetteville; thirteen grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-great-grandchildren; and two step great-great-grandchildren; as well as a sister, Annie Hurley of Carlisle. In addition to his parents and spouses, he was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters, and two grandsons.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Brethren Fellowship with Rev. Manny Diaz officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg, PA. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday and 1:00-2:00 PM Friday at the church.
