Wilfredo Elias “Pop” Taylor, 49, of Dillsburg, PA, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018 in the Milton Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. Born on August 18, 1969 in Chambersburg, he was a son of Wilfredo Elias Soto and the late Frances Hankerson.

A 1989 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Wilfredo served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1989-1993 and the National Guard from 1996-2000. He was employed as a correctional officer at Camp Hill State Correctional Insitution for the last 19 years.

Aside from his father, he is survived by two sons, Marcus Taylor of Little Rock, AR and Jaden Taylor of Middletown, PA; a twin sister, Francina (Robert) Harris of Chambersburg and sisters, Sabrina Edmonds of Fayetteville, PA, Nadina Thomas of Chambersburg, and Rosita (Anthony) Fletcher of Pittsburgh.

Some of his interests including fishing, cooking and grilling, and going to drive-in movies with his sons. He also enjoyed playing cards and dominos, but most of all he cherished the memories of good times spent with family and friends.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 14, in the Chapel of the Thomas L.Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road Chambersburg, with viewing from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Rev. Charles Jenkins will officiate. Interment will follow in Norland Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1004 N. Juniata St., Holidaysburg, PA 16648.
