William Thomas "Tom" Amick

William Thomas “Tom” Amick, 87, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Born January 21, 1938, in Windber, PA, he was a son of the late Emory E. Amick and Evelyn Laura (Shoenthal) Amick.

Tom is predeceased by a brother Ted E. Amick. Surviving is his wife Louise of State College, PA; two nieces, Julia Louise Stack of Bellefonte, and Sarah Elizabeth Amick and husband Rich Strayer of Washington, DC; and two grand nieces, Elizabeth and Addison.

Tom was a 1955 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School where he was president of the class and was a graduate of Lycoming College with a BA degree in Biology. He retired after 40 years as a Medical Technologist having working in Williamsport Hospital, Chambersburg Hospital, and Omega Medical Labs. He attended First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg where he sang in the 3M choir and the Chancel Choir. Tom was a member of Chambersburg Community Theatre since 1977, having served on the board. He also acted, directed, and ran lights for more than 100 shows as well as lighting the Chambersburg Ballet. Since he was president of his Senior Class in High School, he organized and led all of the class reunions. Tom also enjoyed photography and traveling to Europe, England, Scotland and Wales, the Copper Canyon of Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, Nova Scotia, Costa Rica, and all of the lower 48 states. One of his greatest joys were his Tonkinese cats.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 18, 2025, in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Mark Terwilliger will officiate. Interment will be in Fishertown Cemetery, Schellsburg, PA on Friday at 1:00 PM.
