William Bradley

August 30, 1930 — August 14, 2017

William C. (“Bill”) Bradley, devoted son, husband and father, died peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2017, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania at the age of 86. He was the son of the late William Carol and Pearl Hopkins Bradley of Marion, Illinois. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Mary and their children Stephen (Judy), Randall (Barbara) and Michael; his two grandchildren Eric (Sonja) and Ashley (Grant), along with four great grandchildren, Emma, Jake, Vera and Evelyn. He also is survived by one sister, Louise Fisher of West Frankford, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his sisters Genevieve Wollard, Wilma Schaubert, Nadine Jack and brother, Robert D. Bradley.
Bill served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952. Upon returning from service, he married Mary Alice Grabis from Bryantown, Maryland. After a brief time in southern Illinois he and his wife returned to southern Maryland where he began a very successful career in the field of mechanical contracting, culminating in the establishment in 1983 of the successful mechanical engineering and construction firm of Mecco, Inc. in Jessup, Maryland. Bill is the past-President of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America.
Bill fulfilled one final dream. He supervised the construction of his dream home at Penn National where he and Mary moved in 2005. Please join us for a celebration of his life on Saturday, August 26, 2017, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM in the TK Room at the Penn National Clubhouse, 3720 Clubhouse Dr. Fayetteville, PA 17222. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
Donations to the Mont Alto Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 310, Mont Alto, PA 17237 and/or the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department, 101 W. Main Street, Fayetteville, PA 17222 would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
