William Elliott

William G. Elliott, Jr., 84, of Willow Hill, PA, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Born November 21, 1927 in Fannettsburg, he was the son of the late William G. and Nellie Jane Hammond Elliott. He served with the US Army infantry during WWII. Mr. Elliott had been employed for 31 years as a crane operator at Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring in 1975. He owned and operated Elliott’s Christmas Tree Farm and Nursery in Willow Hill. He was an avid hunter with a fondness for elk and deer hunting trips out west, deep sea fishing, spending time with his sheep, and eating out on Sundays.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Stine Elliott, whom he married August 14, 1957; three children, William G. Elliott, III and wife Betty of Willow Hill, Douglas Elliott of Willow Hill, and Candice Mowen and husband Bill of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Kimie Elliott, Nicole Ryder, and Hunter Mowen; and a great-grandson, Jacob Pennington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Joy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, June 1, 2012 at Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main Street, Dry Run, PA. Rev. Marlin A. Neil will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Upper Path Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
