William J. Gardner, 81, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021, with his wife and daughters by his side. Born January 22, 1939, Bill was the son of the late Vincent J. and Margaret L. Gardner.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s University, where he earned a B.S. in accounting. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, council 1426. He loved his family above all else, and had a special love for the many cats and dogs who blessed his life over the years.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Nancy (Williams) Gardner; three daughters, Rebecca A. (Joseph) Shafron, of PA, Dana M. (Christopher) Goodrow, of San Diego, CA, and Rachel M. (Michael) Renshaw of Langhorne, PA; four grandchildren, Joseph, William, and Olivia Shafron, and Sean Renshaw.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Allan Wolfe at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, there will be no visitation prior to the Mass or reception following.
Donations in his memory may be made to Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter. 5051 Letterkenny Rd. W., Chambersburg, PA, 17201. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
