William Lee

Rev. William K. “Russ” Lee, 69, of Chambersburg, died on Monday, April 14, 2014 in Chambersburg Hospital. Born on December 4, 1944 in Leesburg, VA, he was the son of Ella M. Brown Lee and the late William E. Lee. A U.S. Navy veteran, he honorably served his country from 1962 – 1968. He received a Master’s of Science degree from Elmira College, and attended Taylor University, formerly Ft. Wayne Bible College, in Ft. Wayne, IN. He served as Pastor at Spirit of Christ Community Church in Chambersburg for a number of years, before retiring in 2006.

Russ is survived by his wife, Twila B. Appleby Lee, whom he married September 23, 1981; 2 sons, Michael D. Lee and wife Kimberly of Erie, PA and Jeremy D. Lee and wife Amanda, of Lugolf, SC; two step-children, Leroy E. Barthalow of Lebanon, PA and Robin E. Ray of Chambersburg; 17 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Sweatt, a step-son, Rodney Barthalow and a brother David A. Lee.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Spirit of Christ Community Church, 1985 Wenger Lane, Chambersburg, PA 17201. The Rev. Daniel Browell will officiate.
