William F. “Bill” McNulty, age 88, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, in his home. Born in Cambria County, PA on June 20, 1929, he was a son of the late Charles and Lucy Farabaugh McNulty.
A 1942 graduate of Carrolltown High School, Bill went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He went on to work as an electrician for Mack Truck for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the St. Mark the Evangelist Church in Greencastle, the VFW Post 6319 in Greencastle, and the American Legion Post 517 in Mercersburg. Bill enjoyed time with his family as well as hunting, bowling, and dancing.
Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Virginia Jones McNulty, whom he married on January 24, 1998; nine children, Mary Jane Guessford (Mike) of Williamsport, MD, Patricia A. Nobriga (Jim) of Mission Viejo, CA, Robert F. McNulty of Greencastle, Ronald N. McNulty (Rhonda) of Mercersburg, PA, Carol M. Blickenstaff (Jay) of Clear Spring, MD, Raymond McNulty (Vickie) of Mercersburg, PA, Michael C. McNulty (Traci) of Etters, PA, Kevin S. McNulty (Tina) of Hagerstown, MD, and Karen L. Kraynak (John) of Myersville, MD; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 8 siblings, Marie Novella, Albert “Buck” McNulty, George McNulty, Frances Hall, Hilda Baird, Eileen McMullen, Lois Farabaugh, and Rose Klatt. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Marie McNulty in 1993, granddaughter, Christy Houpt, and seven siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at 11 AM at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 385 S Ridge Ave., Greencastle, PA, where Fr. Kyle Sahd will celebrate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, from 6-8 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be offered by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Franklin County Senior Center, 10615 Antrim Church Rd., Greencastle, PA 17225.
