William Parson

William Ronald “Ron” Parson, age 78, of Dry Run, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014. Born in Shade Gap, PA, on September 7, 1935, he was the son of the late William Bryan and Dorothy Effie Gregor Parson.

A general laborer for Knouse foods, Run retired after 19 years in 1998. He enjoyed going to and spending time at the Path Valley Restaurant; he also enjoyed country music, NASCAR, and going to and setting up yard sales.

Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Kay Campbell Parson, a son, Terry Parson, and five brothers, Gary of Shade Gap, Rex of Shade Gap, Glenn of Chambersburg, Robert of Shade Gap, and Rickey Parson of Rehoboth Beach, DE, two sisters, Mary Yeager of Chambersburg, and Kay Price of Fannettsburg, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Parson and a sister, Barbara Wagner.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 10 AM in the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA; where Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 6 – 8 PM. There will not be a viewing on Thursday prior to the service. Interment will be in Doylesburg Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Fannett-Metal Fire Company, P.O.
