William Smith

William Leonard “Lenny” “Bill” Smith, 71, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018, at his home. Born November 6, 1946, in Anne Arundel County, MD, he was a son of the late William John Smith and Laura Lippy Smith Nichols. Mr. Smith served honorably with the US Marine Corps. An Auto Body Technician, he worked at the former Massey Ford in Hagerstown, MD from 1974-1996 and then owned and operated Smith Auto Body in Greencastle for ten years prior to his retirement. His hobby was his work and he never took a vacation.

He is survived by his wife, Esther Neff Smith, whom he married August 30, 1975; three daughters, Sheila Goralski (Patrick) of Pasadena, MD, Tina Schillinberg (Stephen) of Ellicott City, MD, and Lisa Kaufman of Halethrope, MD; his step-daughter, Linda Sites (Ted) of Greencastle; step-son Kenneth Brookens (Kim) of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his brother, Harry Smith; and numerous step brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, March 1, 2018, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Kenneth Brookens will officiate. Entombment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
