William A. Trogler, 86, a resident at Elmcroft in Shippensburg, PA, passed away Tuesday morning, November 15, 2016 at the nursing home. Born May 4, 1930 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Albert and Helen Bivens Trogler. Mr. Trogler served with the US Army during the Korean War and was employed by Roadway trucking company
He was a member of the Marion First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed model A cars and working on vehicle engines. His wife, Bette Jane McDermott Trogler, whom he married June 1, 1957, preceded him in death on July 21, 2016.
He is survived by his children, Kaye (Trogler) Pittman (husband Ronald) of Easton, PA, Jackie (Trogler) Bard (husband Gary) of Fayetteville, PA, Terry Clark (wife Beverly) of Hernando, FL, and Randy Cooper (wife Kim) of London , Kentucky; his grandchildren, Joey Thomas Garland of Greencastle, PA, Angie Hunter of Simpsonville, SC, Michael Clark of Simpsonville, SC, Michael Ritchey of West Palm Beach, FL, Chris Pittman of Easton, PA, and Wendy Costanzo of Bethlehem, PA; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; his brother, Terry; and many loving nieces and nephews including Joy Hile and Carol Shatzer, as well as Lyle Barnes who he thought of as a son. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye and Maybelle.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Chris Renner will officiate. Interment with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg, PA. The family will receive friends from Noon-1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
