William K. Walker, III, 69, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Sunday morning, October 5, 2014 at his home. Born August 7, 1945 in Gettysburg, he was a son of the late Isabel Shank Walker and William K. Walker, II. Mr. Walker was a 1963 graduate of the James Buchanan High School and went on to graduate Cum Laude from Hagerstown Business College. He was a Commercial Loan Officer at various area banks throughout his lifetime. A motorcycle enthusiast, he was a member of the ROMEO Motorcycle Club and The Hog Group. He was a life member of the Greencastle Sportsman’s Club and held membership in Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW and the Chambersburg Pistol and Rifle Club.
Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Maxine Bingaman Walker, whom he married October 25, 1968; two daughters, Angela Elgin of Chambersburg and Kate Walker Thomas and husband Tommy of Apex, NC; four grandchildren, Matthew Elgin, Owen Brotman, Sera Elgin, and Rhys Thomas; and a number of cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Walker; and his son-in-law, Matthew Elgin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 11, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Pastor Kenny Craig officiating. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
