Wilma Cornell

Wilma S. Cornell, 73, of Fort Loudon, PA, died Tuesday evening, May 22, 2012 while surrounded by her family at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she resided for the past two weeks. Born August 4, 1938 in Monroe Township, Bedford County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Mary May Smith. Wilma was a 1956 graduate of the Everett High School. A homemaker most of her life, she had at one time been employed by the Tuscarora Area School District as a Teacher’s Aide and at the former Psychological Services in Edenville. She was a member of the Fort Loudon United Methodist Church. Wilma loved spending time with her grandchildren and having her family to her home for dinner every Sunday. She and her husband also enjoyed spending time at church camp in Crystal Springs.

She is survived by her husband, Guy W. Cornell, whom she married December 29, 1956; three children, Richard Cornell and wife Kim of Lemasters, Jeannie Boggs and husband Jack of Fannettsburg, and Gary Cornell and wife Michele of Mercersburg; six grandchildren, Brian Cornell and wife Caitlin, Troy Boggs, Zachary Mull, Jason Cornell, Jenny Cornell, and Bradley Boggs; five sisters, Ruth Leonard and husband Harry of Everett, Betty Noble of Bedford, Velma Grimes and husband Simon of Hummelstown, Pauline Miller and husband Harry of Dauphin, and Joanne Smith and husband Roger of Everett; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Williams and Susan Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 25, 2012 at Fort Loudon United Methodist Church with Pastor Laura Minnella and Pastor John Witmer officiating. The family will receive friends from 9-10:00 AM at the church. Interment will be private.
