Wilson “Cecil” Adkins, 69, of Chambersburg, passed unexpectedly, Wednesday October 16th, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born Monday February 7th, 1955 to the late Freddy and Isolene Adkins in West Liberty, Kentucky.
Cecil is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Debbie (Howard) Adkins; a daughter Stephanie Nalewak of Chambersburg; sons Brandon Adkins and G. Eric Adkins; two grandchildren: Devon and Emma Nalewak and 2 step-grandsons: Jarek and Kohen Nalewak; a sister Ida (Larry) Barnhart; brothers Fred and Dwight Adkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Shirley Sikora and brothers Timothy Adkins, Greg Adkins, and Donald McDaniel. Cecil worked many years as an accountant. One of his passions in life was sports. He played softball and he was an avid bowler in many leagues. He also coached sports and worked as a referee and umpire, anything to help out the local youth sport organizations. He was very active at LifePoint Church. He collected stamps and coins. However, his true passion in life was spending time with family.
His funeral service will be held on Monday October 21st, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of LifePoint Church 339 Lincoln Way E, Chambersburg with Pastor Randy Rhodes officiating. A private interment will follow. The family will receive friends at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home 333 Falling Spring Rd. Chambersburg, Sunday October 20th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00PM, and one hour prior at the LifePoint Church on Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
