W.W. Hague

W.W. “Bill” Hague, 91, of Chambersburg, died on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Penn Hall Nursing Center. Born on June 11, 1922 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late W. Webster and Marie Bitting Hague. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Bill went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University, spending his career working at the former Chambersburg Engineering Company. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, a field trip leader for the Audubon Society and a longtime volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Bill’s hobbies included traveling, playing water volleyball at Penn Hall, square dancing, and deer and turkey hunting.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jessie Lehman Hague; two sons, Thomas W. and wife Sheila of Bradfordsville, KY and David C. and wife Patricia of Indian Hills, CO; 4 grandchildren; 5 great – grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Robert of Venice, FL and Donald of Chambersburg. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Foster.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1811 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Mark Ruzicka and Chaplain Robert Keener officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
